Fourth Regional Conference

The Fourth Regional Conference of Wikimedia Serbia will be held at the Debate hall of the Belgrade Youth Center on June 5 and 6, from 2 to 7 pm.

Saturday, June 5

• until 1:55: internal meeting of Wikipedians, including lunch

  topics: small chapters, ways of recruiting new members

• 2:00-2:45 Introductory lecture (Serbian, English)

  At the introductory lecture, Wikipedia and Wikimedia projects in general will be presented, especially the editions in Serbian language; afterwards, guests will be presented, as well as conclusions from the internal meeting and the program of this conference.

• 2:50-3:35 Pavle Ćosić: Dictionaries (Serbian)

  Pavle Ćocić will speak about dictionaries, making of dictionaries and contribution that publishing house Kornet is planning to give to the free knowledge.

• 3:40-4:20 Zoran Stefanović: Wikipedia as a factor of Balkan integrations (Serbian)
• 4:25-6:00 Orsolya Gyenes, Martin Zeise and Marcin Cieslak: Wikipedias of our guests (English)

  Our guest Wikipedians talk about Wikipedias in languages of the present guests: Hungarian, German and Polish. Each participant will give a presentation about his/her Wikipedia and Wikimedia.

• 6:00-6:45 Orsolya Gyenes, Martin Zeise and Marcin Cieslak: Technical changes in Wikipedia (English)

  Wikipedia recently got a few technical and aesthetic improvements, whose goal is to make editing Wikipedia easier, as well as improve the content quality. Those and other announced improvements will be discussed during this lecture.

Sunday, June 6

• 2:00-3:30 Voja Antonić: Kremna unprophecy (Serbian)

  Voja Antonić is a film editor, inventor and publicist.

  Voja will hold a lecture about collaborative processes in the making and development of the Kremna prophecy: why it was created and how it was developed, and how and how much do its versions differ from one another. Also, he will share his thoughts about the best way of presenting this kind of topics on Wikipedia and in general.

• 3:35-4:20 Miloš Rančić: Censorship in Wikimedia projects (English)

  Miloš Rančić is one of Wikimedia stewards and one of the founders of the Serbian Wikipedian community

  During the first half of May, the global Wikimedia community has been struck by a dilemma: do we censor media contents or not? Miloš will describe from his point of view what happened during those days.

• 4:25-5:05 Filip Maljković: Who's taking care of Wikipedias that no one cares about: Stewards in Wikimedia projects (English)

  Filip Maljković is one of Wikimedia stewards (stewards do administrative duties on projects where there are still no local administrators). He will talk about the rights, duties and roles of stewards, as well as how their job looks like in practice.

• 5:10-6:45 Dragan Satarić, Đorđe Stakić: Final lecture (Serbian, English)

  Debate: Retrospective of Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects and forecasts about how they will look like in the future.
